How professionals get customers through Parlo: appointments and rentals over WhatsApp

6 min read

Salons, dental and medical practices, restaurants and car-rental agencies join Parlo in one WhatsApp or Telegram message. What is live today, how a request reaches you, what you have to answer, and what the AI does and does not do for you.

Most of what is written about “working with AI” is about prompts and chatbots. For a hairdresser in Oujda or a rental agency in Marrakech, the useful version is narrower: an AI that brings you a customer and asks you one question you can answer with one word. That is what Parlo does on the professional side, and this guide explains it with the actual mechanics. The full offer, in French, English and Spanish, is on the professionals page.

Two kinds of business are live

  • Businesses that take appointments: hair salons and barbers, dentists, doctors, restaurants. Parlo arranges the time. Payment stays between you and the customer, as it always was.
  • Car-rental agenciesin Morocco. Parlo lists your fleet with your daily prices, asks you to confirm each booking, and collects the customer’s payment through its link once you have said yes.

Taxi drivers, plumbers and other trades are not open through chat yet. The platform underneath supports them, but the consumer side for those professions is switched off until there is supply, so listing them now would list them to nobody. This page will change when that changes.

Joining is one message

Open @askparlo_bot on Telegram or write to Parlo on WhatsApp and say who you are: “je suis coiffeur, inscrivez mon salon”, “I run a restaurant, list us”, “je suis une agence de location”. Parlo registers you from that sentence and asks, one at a time, for the two things it cannot guess: the name of your business and where customers find you.

There is no form, no app to install for this, and no account. Parlo recognises you by the number you write from. It is built never to ask for your phone number, a password, or proof that you own the business; the conversation itself is the proof.

Your address is your visibility

Customers ask Parlo for “a dentist near Maârif” or “a car in Tangier from the 20th to the 23rd”. Parlo answers with two or three real businesses close to them. A business with no address is never in that list, which is why Parlo asks for it right after you join. Give it as you would say it to a person; Parlo geocodes it, and if the name is ambiguous it asks which place you mean rather than guessing.

Agencies can have several counters. Register the first, then add the others whenever: “I opened a counter at the airport”.

How a request reaches you

Appointments

A customer chooses your salon or practice and a time. You receive one message with the service, the day and the hour. You reply in your own words: “yes”, “no”, “11 rather than 10”. Parlo relays the answer to the customer. If you do not answer, the customer is told the professional has not confirmed yet and can pick another; nothing is promised on your behalf.

Car rental

A traveller picks one of your cars for a date range. Parlo puts a hold on that car so it cannot be promised to two people, and asks you to confirm. You have 30 minutes. “Yes” confirms and the customer receives a payment link; “no” releases the car; silence releases it too, after the 30 minutes, and the customer is told. Nothing is charged before your confirmation.

What the AI does for you, and what it does not

  • It keeps your availability.“My slots are 45 minutes”, “closed on Monday”, “no more appointments this week”, “the Clio is taken from the 12th to the 20th”. Say it once and it holds.
  • It keeps your prices. Rental rates come from your fleet list, car by car. Two agencies charging different prices for the same class are both shown, each at their own price. Parlo does not adjust what you set.
  • Agencies can teach it standing rules. “Accept every request if the car is free”, “never below 300 dirhams”, “call me for rentals longer than a week”. Parlo stores the instruction in your words and answers routine requests for you while you sleep. Anything your rules do not clearly cover still comes to you personally.
  • It does not book without you.Every booking needs your yes, or a rule you gave it. It is built to say “the agency is being asked” rather than “confirmed” until that yes exists.
  • It does not sell your data or spam your customers. Parlo holds what the chat needs: your address, your availability, your fleet, your instructions. See the trust guide for the company and the payment handling.

Where the customers come from

From search. People look for a haircut, a dentist, a table or a rental car in their city, land on a Parlo page such as car rental in Marrakech, and open the chat. Others already use Parlo to send airtime home and ask it for a car when they travel. You are shown to them only when your address is near and you are taking requests, so there is no cost to being listed on a quiet day.

What to ask before you join

Ask Parlo the terms for your kind of business when you sign up. It answers plainly. Two facts you can rely on now: there is nothing to install and no subscription to set up, and for appointments Parlo takes no payment at all. For rentals, the customer pays through Parlo’s link after your confirmation; confirm the payout arrangement with the assistant in chat before you list your first car.
